If you can see it on Imax. The movie is gorgeous on Imax.

Previews do look good. I'm looking forward to this one.

It's about time Hollywood got big mecha right.... I'm sure many of you remember this train wreck: Robot Jox Fight Scene (Achilles vs Alexander) - YouTube

Well you know it's a bit expensive to have real giant robots to make the movie I don't know your tastes but it's the best 3d animation I've seen from Avatar. A lot better than Iron Man 3 and Superman.

As I've hear many a time "Special Effects and CGI are replacing real plot and story in today's movies".

I'm sorry Aaron but I don't understand your post. Why? Because this is a movie about giant robots, CGI effects, fights against monsters. Of course the plot isn't going to be original but this isn't the point on this kind of movies.
If you watch the movie with that expectation will always be disappointed.

Regards
Alcides

that's ok, your kids will remake pacific rim in ten years and it will have 9 grain brown wheaty content, and plot depth, plus action and explosions, in the media cone all plugged in and uncensored.
be thankful its not megashark vs giant octopus.

It is basically a 2 hour advertisement for action figures and fast food chain tie-ins.

Probably going to make lots-o-money though.
