Hot air balloon chasing.

My brother and his girlfriend won a ride on the biggest hot air balloon in the country and asked if I could come to the launch of the balloon. I obviously said YES, grabbed my camera, emptied the memory card (with making a back up first!) and went to Beesd (Noord Brabant, NL) for the event. I kinda went on a picture snapping frenzy, as it was my first close encounter with a hot air balloon. Made some cool video's too.

So here is the first one, taken from the edge of the humongous basket, looking into the inflating balloon:



It looks like a giant eye, the sound you hear is from the fans blowing air into the balloon. It is roughly 50m to the other end (the top) of the balloon.

Here is part 4 (Youtube uploaded this before part 2 and 3). This is after we chased the balloon to the landing, only missing touchdown by a minute or less.



Part two is the burn cycle part and it took just 6 minutes from the begin to ready for take off. Awesome experience.

In the summmer, it often is a regular event for those critters. They actually rushed TOWARDS the balloon instead of fleeing!
