You're kinda right John. The 135 airframe has got to be the most versatile aircraft ever built. There are so many versions that are flying nowadays. Add to it the fact that the newest one is almost 50 years old!

I do have a kind of soft spot for the Cobra Ball though, as I've had the opportunity to speak to a few airmen that were very close to the crash back in 81 when they were based in Alaska. Very touching stories for sure.

At least it's not as bad as the Rivet Stand/ Rivet Quick planes with the huge snoopy like nose radar.

Try a Shackleton in full flight! 4 contra-rotating RR Griffons at full power. That low frequency drone, you don't hear it show much as you feel it.
