Question Modelik model descriptions

In checking out Modelik's model descriptions they give number of 'points' for models. I originally figured this was just a mis-translation for number of parts, then I saw this model. Is this kit really 29 parts and does that include formers or not? They give the kit a difficulty rating of 4 (which I know isn't necessarily directly related to number of pieces) but that seems like an aweful low number of parts for a 1/33 scale / 700 mm model.

I think that number describes the numbers of construction points and absolutely not the parts!
A construction point can be cockpit, wings, wheels and other sub assembly groups. So when all 29 groups have been assembled.....you have a plane

Ah - that makes more sense Johnny, thanks.
I see the SS-1C SCUD B + MAZ-543 shows 1029 points - that's a LOT of assemblies!

The point total appears to be a part of their model rating system. Just below the point total there is a "rate this model" dropdown so those points might be the total of all ratings so far. I will venture to say that they should divide the points by the number of ratings to get the average rather than display the total and rephrase it from "number of points" to "rating" or something similar.

Now that I've looked around the site a bit more, I believe you are correct that these are based on people rating the models. The clearest example of this is the 'Top 5' models on the home page, each listing the 'number of points' on that list. Seems like it should be averaged somehow - if every one of their customers rated a model as a 1 it might pass up some that only had a few people rate and gave 10's to.

For your information.

If you want to get a concept of how complex a model is...

I used to go to moduni.de to see the number of parts of models (not only Modelik).

As far as I know, you can always find it on the product pages.

Regards,

besides the arm it cost for shipping, it is a great model site, i have ordered there now twice, and have had nothing but great service from them.

Might have to order again, There are some plastic kits I want to get, have not seen them here in the States, and they are of a subject I love
