my dad and i used to get chicken livers at KFC all the time when they used to offer them on the menu no one else in my family likes them. so far the only restaurant that offers liver an onions here is Frisches (sp.) i always gross them (family) out when we go there for dinner.

I'm not much of a liver fan, however I do really like chicken gizzards and hearts.
I remember eating them for dinner many times when I was a kid. Also when we would have a turkey we would all fight for the gizzard and heart - they were the best parts! My mother would also make a pig stomach, stuffed with sausage & potatoes from time to time. That is still one of my favorite meals.

Agree with Garland about Jimmy's. Ate there a couple of years ago when I was over in Vista for a show at the Steam and Ag Museum.
Let me know if and when you come over again. We'll do lunch at Jimmy's.

Love Liver and Onions though I haven't had it in a while. Now, I'm starting to crave some.

Mom used to fry up the gizzards and other assorted innards whenever we had turkey. She loved them. I had to leave the house...

Two of my fellow apprental units were talking one day about their mothers/grandmothers preparing chitlins* when they were growing up.

They were NOT fans of the dish, but their recounts were hilarious!

*"Chitlins? That's pig intestines! That includes the lower tract. Ain't no food down in that area. Matter of fact, I think you better check it out- Somebody misspelled a word!" -- Bill Cosby

The best way to have Liver is fried with Onions and Bacon! I am alone in my house with this choice but a couple of the local diners do a pretty good job on it. Now, I am hungry!

Happy new year, everyone..
