RANT Regarding Zathros and Zealot

Sorry, just got to rant..

For those of you who are members of zealot, i will no longer be posting or partaking in that forum..

Reason :

several days ago Zathros posted a message on my posts, pointing out how he would make a ship, With a section that stated. Just discussing ideas, no need to write back.

Today, he has closed my thread due to QUOTE " not replying to his comment"

i have now sent him an email a follows closing my account

I just want to share techniques. You need not justify your techniques as the model speaks for itself, it is coming out great!
Therefore there was no need to reply to your thread.

since when was a forum, a case of DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO.​​
So basically what you are saying is..
you really have an issue, and what not. with the way the model is made.. One minute you say one thing and the next you say something else. I am providing a guide for beginners, (NOTE : NOT A GUIDE FOR PROFESSIONALS)
as i have said.. This is my first model in over 20 years. so yes there are a few miss guided errors. but that is no reason to take the strop.
Secondly.. if you are as good as you say you are.. then you would know, what paint does to paper, IT tightens it.. as such the hull will tighten up a little *i admit not a great deal, but some.
As far as im concerned you can remove my account,, I will not partake in this forum any longer with a Hitler based administration, who basically, have a DO AS I DO attitude.
I can now fully understand why you had an issue with papermodelers, if this is the attitude you have with your current members.,

No problem Keith, it's good to get it off your chest some times.

I left that forum years ago as it's had all kinds of difficulties over the years with heavy-handed mods, poor rules, restrictions on designers etc. It look like it had come back to a more sensible situation in the last little while as I have dropped in to read some... But alas, it looks like their problems persist.

First I like your scatch builds. It does not matter to me if they are not perfect because they are scratch built, as long as they are close to what you shooting for that should be the only thing that matters. Did you try contacting Raven Blaack? You could send him a PM here or on Zealot. He seems like a reasonable kind of person. Maybe he could sort this out for you.

I have had several long winded, popycock comments made from Zathros.. it started with him stating i couldnt post because adverts wernt allowed.

Then he had a go, because i kept asking him to check videos before i posted them.

i have had a few, to tell you the truth, i cant be a****ed with him anymore.. i will just leave it at that. whilst he is in charge, i think more an more people are going to leave, it is there loss.

Since Zathros, boasted about how good his model was, when closing my thread i decided to take the photos of his PRE DESIGNED model and point out some flaws...

Here is the post i made

regarding your pictures, as to THE PERFECT BOAT. in the thread, where you point out "This is how a model should look"



This is in order to give you a taste of your own medicine.

1. your deck line, is wonky, up down, in out.. it is not straight as per your comment
2. there is a lump in the side of the hull, (this may be part of hte model, i just cant tell)
3 your upper deck is not glued together well.. and you have not used any paints/markers to mask the paper edges.


Again here, your deck line is wonky. and it shows the gluing on the upper deck.



your seats are out of alignment and angled. and the rear of the deck is not joined correctly



You can see much more clearly here the wonkyness of your deck sides and hull



SO PLEASE
Do not criticise other peoples models, until you can provide a model that is of so high a calibre, that you have a RIGHT to do so.

We don't want this to become an anti-Zealot thread or bash somebody who can't defend himself. (Heaven knows I've had my own problems...Try running a papermodel design company there "We'll be glad to help you advertise, you just can't do any advertising.")

Not that I care since I never joined that site, but is the issue that someone in charge there is meddling with your postings or they think that it is a commercial issue of advertising?



In any case, it is only curiosity ( like the National Enquirer kind of curiosity ) and as I said, I could not really care.
