Question Enough downloads?

I saw a thread on another paper model group where a member took a screen shot of the properties window of his paper model folder. This aroused my curiosity, so I decided to do the same.

Though my folder was smaller than his, I still think it is excessive (like anything I do). Regardless, I still download free models, and also have a lot of catching up to do now that I have an external hard drive of 1 terabyte (1,000 gigabytes)(western digital).

My curiosity is expanding, and I wonder...is anyone else as obsessed as me?

My wife keeps me in check, her computer! I am planning on moving the models I have to external storage so I can get even more. I had 70 planes and 50 ships, plus other stuff like accessories, cars/trucks, tanks, and buildings. I haven't checked it though in a couple of weeks though. Mine is only at 636 MB. I have a ways to go to catch up! I have been doing paper modeling for a bit over two months.

Only 15Gigs Phil..... I think at the moment I have about 24Gigs of free models that I've collected over the last five years, and possibly about another 5Gigs of digital released payware models that I've purchased, about half of which are variants that I've re-edited to different colour schemes or edited the design to improve something. I seem to spend a lot of time doing that, and never building them. Not to mention the pile of models released on paper that sit on the shelf next to the computer.

I know that I'll never ever have enough time to build them all.... so yes, it's kind of an obsession I suppose. I grab almost anything that gets relesed as freeware, even if it's not something I'm really interested in right now. Just in case I want to build them later.

Best Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Gee, I'd better get busy. Only 1.5 gig, but then I'm still pretty much a rookie at paper. Now the 1000 or so plastic models I still have left is another thing.

ct ertz, Have a look at my LINKS page...there are enough to keep anyone busy for a month or so.

Julian, I am so glad to see you!! (I thought you had left:() I missed seeing your Fozzyness...you have just made my day!

ccoyle, Most of the models I downloaded are single page models, so the 24,000 is more accurate! (many of the folders have multiple models in them).

whulsey, you might benefit from my links page as well.

Rick, I'm a little worried about you! lol

I don't really collect digital models, so my folder is only 70 MB.
My physical collection though, is something like 60 kits. Still more than a lifetime at my going rate.

Thankls Phil, more stuff to explore. I've actually tried to be a bit selective of what I download since I realized quickly with plastic that my appetite is bigger then my building speed...and decided to try to keep the paper to a 3 to 5 year backlog. I know its not going to happen, but I do have good intentions!
