Has to be. The -26 was the tactical transport version of the -24.

Well done - yes, an AN-24.
The actual 24 version is interesting - it's an An-24RV. I wouldn't have known, but I found this on a plate on the plane. ---------------------------- I looked the version up and according to Wiki the Rv stands for Reaktivnyy (Uskoritel)- which means Boosted Version V. This was a turbojet boosted export version fitted with a 1,985-lb (900-kg) thrust auxiliary turbojet engine in the righthand nacelle. It had narrow chord inner wings, double-slotted flaps, and is powered by two 2,550 hp (1,902 kW) Ivchenko AI-24A turboprop engines. The An 26 was the military tactical version and externally differs in have a cargo ramp and most distinctive of all, bulged observation windows in the front fuselage. --------------------------- Look at the photo again, and see if you notice any thing else interesting about this plane?

TN-AHH was operated by "Aero Fret Business" of Congo who ended operations in 2009 and apparently stranded it at Jo'burg. But this operator's name doesn't seem visible on the aircraft.
But I have a question for you Kevin. How come "Antonov AN24" appears on both sides of the nose here Air-Britain : Aero-Fret Business but not in your photo? Mmmm... |

AN-24.
Looker - very sharp! Well the answer as to why there is no type and series on the nose plate is because quite simply i blanked it out - no point asking what it was with the answer in full view! Well "Mmmmm''ed"! And thank you for the registration info. Appreciated. Miles - you picked what it was I asking did anyone notice? There is no registrations carried physically on this plane. You can see this (or rather not see this) on Lookers picture as well, so this is not something I also blanked out! I am puzzled by this - does anyone have an explaination? Another question that I have is what is the purpose of the blue diamond markings on both side of the fuselage just in front of the props? Odd. I don't think they are formation marks. Cannot see why they would have these? Ideas?
