I tried to delete that attachment, but I guess I didn't...

Nah ... here the picture (not found by right clicking ) is labelled as a Lavochkin La 5
I'm not sure that the "5" bit of that label is entirely correct though.

Cafe has it correct. Polikarpov 185.
I'm certain the label for the picture is erroneous:
the rudder, tailplane, and undercarriage all have Polikarpov characteristics, rather than Lavochkin, so far as I am able to discern.

Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.

Similar, but not same

Cafe and Uyrael got it right, M-71 powered I-185
Few details to note
I-185 has two piece LG door with angled edge
Oil cooler located under the fuselage on I-185 instead of under the cowling on La-5 (La-7B and La-9 has ventral scoop but with different shape)
Wingtip of I-185 is rounder than La-5
Bulge on top of I-185 cowling is the third MG instead of air intake if La-5/7/9
Different spinner shape
La-5/7/9 has bulge over exhaust flap on the cowling
Less framed canopy

That M-50 is a beautiful plane - as so many of the Russian ones are!

I knew I had seen that pic in an old issue of le Fana de l'aviation! Issue 507 from february 2012 has an article on the I-185 with 3-views of some of the variants. The legend of that picture says "the prototype I-184 "04" was involved in an operational evaluation on the Kalinin Front.
