Smaller

"Everyone has a smaller button" a quote for DC.

A humble beginning...first up is a new pic of older builds, six little ships and galleons, and W.M. Crooks locomotive from Micromodels.

Pic 2 is Felix's bag of trix (my website). Sorry for lack of focus.

I would love to do more right now, but I got a sliver on my finger...
(pic 3-plank's little brother)

This thread is open to anyone who found their smaller button...no challenge, no rules, just "smaller".
Feel free to post your own smallers here.

I will do more when I can.

They look great Phil. I find the little ships amusing. I don't know why but they make me happy. Do you have plans to amaze us with something new?

Yes. I know tiny bag o trix and sliver are disappointing, but, at least it's a start!

Crazy, each of my fingers could crush a couple of those at once.
Nice work.

Not disappointing at all, pretty creative actually. I decided to accept your microscopic madness challenge. Here is Wolfgang's paper version of an old Revell plastic kit. The atomic Moon Ship. I built it at 40% the designed 1:96 scale so sub 1:200 somewhere. Not as small as your creations but pretty small for my fumbling digits.

Available from The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model Gift Shop as a free download in the science fiction section.

very nicely built for such a small scale!!!

you guys are crazy!!...here I am, enlarging my models because some parts are just too tiny for my fat fingers and tired eyes!
(that and I like bigger kits!)
...and you guys are constructing these amazing MICRO models!

amazing work Phil! The ships are truly works of art!! Imagine the large armada scene from POTC 3, wouldn't that make an amazing little Diorama? hint hint
With your scale of ships, you could get the entire scene on top of a Dollar bill!

jast2000 has helped me with a Hawk miniature (I want to create some Red Arrows)...so maybe I can try to contribute a "micro" soon.

Smaller, at least for me

Hello Phil, and thanks for starting me to think about what I have done "smaller". 1/87 aircraft is as small as I got. I guess your lovely little ships and trains are more like 1/870...

Anyway, your challenge made me go through what of my saved stuff might be useful for others. This is what I came up with:

Smaller-final_closeup.jpg

* A way of making more life-like radial engines in small scales, plus a way of making rotating props for such engines.

Smaller-poormans_magnifying_lamp.jpg

* And - by necessity as it were! - a "Poorman's Magnifying Lamp"

Leif
