The Ultimate paper Cutting Tool?

No...I don't mean a way to cut paper.

I mean a way to cut WITH paper!!

This is amazing.

And, if you think it was faked, he followed it up with another Video.
And this one gets me thinking.

Notice how well it cut the Foam?
A beautifully smooth and clean cut.
Imagine a cardstock blade then?

Most interesting. The fast-rotating paper seared the cut surfaces of the wood, but didn't appear to melt the expanded poly center of the foam core.

Any idea what "officially deprecated" means? "Officially disapproved of"?

"deprecated" usually means that the developer recommends against its use and will no longer be maintaining it, and often that access will be removed completely in the future.

Considering how easily paper cuts skin even when it's not rotating fast, its use as a blade for foam doesn't really surprise me. Cutting wood, however... wow.

anything moving with sufficient speed can and is used to cut.........

waterjet cutters are used on 1/4" steel plate....... with added silica they can cut through even thicker. They used them at the plant where my buddy works to cut headliners and door panels for Nissan.........

Laser cutters.........

The problem, and it is shown with the paper blade, is no rigidity and once the edge is compromised (nicked) or pinched it no longer will work.........

I don't think I'll be swapping out my Freud blades anytime soon....lol

But I do admit it was an eye opening display......... I don't think I would have thought to try it out.

I've had a few paper cuts that felt like this happened...

And once the paper blade is no good anymore, you have 249 more in the same ream. Double that if you only make them 5 inch diameter.

I wonder if different papers cut differently; regular copy paper for foam, cardstock for steel?
