Where's Doris?

I couldn't help but notice an obvious absence on our forum. I always enjoyed watching the amazing Doris. She is one of the most accomplished paper modelers I have ever seen and she hasn't posted anything in a year. Doris If your out there I hope you doing ok and I love your work. This old man is one of your biggest fans. Whenever I introduce people to the hobby I take them to your builds just to show how far you can take it if you want to. Pleas let us know what you have been up to.

I've been wondering that a bit myself. Was always just fascinated by the filigree and decorative figure work on her ship models.

Last I heard, IIRC, is that she was being harassed (prob. too strong a word) for being a card modeler by wood ship modelers in her area of the world. This was some time ago and I am relying on an increasingly leaky memory (ah, the joys of growing older).

Most likely because she is more talented than they are.

Anyone?

Anyone send her a message pleading for her to come back here where she is more than welcome and whose work is greatly appreciated? Her efforts in illuminating the ships and taking night time pictures are a classic and lasting memory of her work....,

-Gil

I don't know what happened as I'm not very active in modelling world nowadays, but I can drop her a note on one of the forums she frequents on your behalf.

Hi guys, a message from Doris:
She sends her sincere greetings, she has good memories of you guys. She had a
good time with you here and if her health will allow it (she had/has some health
issues) and she'll have something to present she will gladly share it with you. She'll also
try to drop a few lines, she's very thankful for what you have done for here and
that she could be here sharing this beautiful hobby.

Thank you for getting in touch with Doris. Hopefully she will be able to drop by and visit sometime soon. Here's hoping she fully recovers from whatever has been ailing her.
