Those of us who go back to the time when you had to make do with what you'd got would just wrap some electrical tape roung the wretched thing and get on with it.

I have Ball Point Pens with those types of grips on them.
I don't like them.
Its the fatness...I don't want it.
I prefer it be smooth and the same size all the way along the handle.

If that was my Knife, I would throw out the rubber grip and wrap the space with smooth tape.
Probably give you the same grippy effect, but without the bulge.

Thats what I would do.

I have one of those that I do not use very much. It rolls around too easily. Gotta watch out for my lower extremities when using it
I have taped a 1 inch long piece of plastic sprue or a thick toothpick near the top of the handle to keep it from rolling.

I actually have a block of styrofoam that I stick the blade in to keep it from rolling around. When done the blade guard is put back on and the knife goes into a drawer.

As stated before I do not use that knife very much. I prefer the Fiskars Softgrip Craft Knife.

I'm liking the look of those Fiskars Fingertip knives Missileer and Gary G are showing. They could well be the answer to my damaged fingers. Gotta be worth a try anyway, 'cos I just can't grip a straight handled knife for more than a few seconds.

I can find them OK on eBay (US) but cross pond postage almost doubles the prices. eBay (UK) just sends me to the same US listings with same postage rates.

OK, I'm not poor, and can pay the price if I have to, but I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of a UK or Euro source first. That way I can get them quicker too. I'm getting a bit fed up of Cubees, and to be honest, I'm not finding them so easy to put together either. Mind you I am shrinking them to A5 size, so they mingle better with the Minions.

For some unknown reason, only the "swivel" version of the Fingertip Knife
is available on the UK Amazon.

Here is the one you want on Canadian Amazon.
https://www.amazon.ca/Fiskars-163050.../dp/B001480O26

I found it on brilliantsave UK
brilliantsave.co.uk

It links to ebay UK

Cheers Dave I'm following those up. Seems strange that a supposed UK trader in Swindon wants to charge carriage from outside UK.

I guess it's another of these Chinese ruses, but I'll keep it on file.

Meantime I've ordered this ... DAFA Ergonomic Finger Tip Ultimate Control Craft Art Knife Precision Cutter | eBay

Different make and wil probably turn out to be a cheap Chinese copy, but there's plenty of them in my toolkit already.

Rick,
Try replacing the grip with a piece of latex tubing. The kind used on sling shots.
Its available with different inside diameters. Should be able to find something at your local hardware store

Yes, this is my primary cutting and scoring tool.

Tips

The orange grip does "ride up" for me too, at times. That is often a indicator that I need a new blade.

has anyone done the same thing? what is your verdict?
Though it is not that knife, which looks like it may have an inset for the grip, I have used a pencil grip on a smooth handle and for me it rides down even as far as beginning to cover the blade.
