You know, the Voyager deep space probe had a golden disk attached to it with instructions on how to play it. On the disk were natural earth sounds like waterfalls and surf, along with and other recordings from all around the world. Bach, Mozart, Gershwin, Indonesian gamelan, rock music and lots of other stuff, all launched into deep space back in 1970 or so.

So one day not long from now the SETI project (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) finally picks up a signal that sounds like it could be something, and cracks the code. The first contact message from Out There?
