help with club newsletter (IPMS)
i am not sure who or where to go with this so if i am completely off base just let me know.
i belong to the local IPMS club here in Columbus Ohio with about 40 to 50 members, and they put out a monthly newsletter and i thought it would be a cool idea to add a 1 or 2 page model every month to it and sorta spread the love sorta thing. i was wondering if either FG or Ecards or any of the companies out there would donate some free model files to the cause. now i haven't got this approved by the club yet, as it just came to me after the last meeting, so i am just putting out feelers to get the ball rolling. the major interests of the group is Armor, Aircraft, and Autos, with the random other things (sci-fi, ships. ect.) thrown in. i would like to start things out pretty simple and move to something a little more challenging as the news letters progress, adding holiday themed models where appropriate.

Sounds like a great idea.
As you said, starting simple would be the best. Maybe you can start by a brief history and introduction of the hobby, accompanied by a simple cut-out. I don't know if you could use something vintage in the public domain to attract attention and avoid legal issues. Or if not a vintage item, you could probably design a very simple cut-out in the style of the ones that Wheaties used to put in their boxes so many decades ago. Surely some of the people in the group remember those and may feel interested.

I would recommend you contact Chris Gutzmer (cgutzmer) here, he owns Ecardmodels.
Scott Fynn would be your contact at FG. Don't forget, Nobi did a great series of free models, so he would be a good contact. Dave Winfield, does free models, might also contact him. Lots of folks, who I am sure, would help out!
