I suddenly remembered another of those most wanted and elusive items:

The original box containing the CD and paper sheets to print and build the 2 feet tall Sailor Moon figure.

It is from 1997 and rare to find. Released by a company named "InnerBrain".
They also released a paper mecha of the Eva01 in pretty much the same style.
But while the Eva can still be found in some stores, the Sailor Moon figure is hard to track.

I have a soul for sale for this one. (I know the ISO of the CD can be found in some
Sailor Moon related sites, but having the real thing would be just awesome).

Isaac, those WHV kits are very nice. But yes, they look somehow outdated for today's standards.
Do you mean like a cosmetic enhancement with proper panel lines, vector graphics and such?

Great discussion!
My holy grail is readily available, and I could easily obtain it, but my problem would be display space. I'd love to get Alfonso's AXM 1/100 ISS, in a fantasy configuration with a US shuttle and a Russian Buran shuttle docked at the same time. Even had a chat with Alfonso about where two shuttles could dock simultaneously. Problem is the assembled model is about 4' x 2' x 3'. Way too big to display, and my wife absolutely won't consider letting me hang it from the ceiling. I already have AXM shuttles, and recolored a Buran from Leo Cherkashin (Leo099) replacing the Soviet flags with current Russian ones.
Besides, I already have more models now than I will live to build.

My holy grail started with trying to get the Micromodel HMS Vanguard. Ray Morris, a good friend, solved that. Then it was the Emett Festival Railway.Managed to get an original of the book just a few months before the Emett Society posted it so that was a Holy Grail achieved twice. Currently wish that Dover would reprint the English Pub kit. No doubt there will be other grails as time and my memory progress....

Psst, Vince: 1/400 is doable...

I don't remember whether it was Columbia or Challenger, but I want to think it would have been Columbia. The completed model was quite large - about 2 feet, if memory serves, making it in the neighborhood of 1/66.

I have no idea if this even exists, but I would flip my lid if I came across it.

Holy cow, I think I found it!

Of course I bought it immediately, so now I'll have to wait until I receive it to find out if it matches my memories of the model. And, now that (I think) I know what it is, I can actually search the web and find more copies available!

My "Holy Grail" would have been to complete the GPM 1:16 Panzer III (?) I got what I Feast was a good start on on it but things really fell apart when I got to all the road wheels.

My other grail would be to complete Kooklits type VII u-boat. I have a 1:48 scale enlargement of the hull about 80% completed, but when I look at all the other pieces, it nrinhs on anxiety and panic attacks.
