Actually a long time ago!

We are all aging Herky. The last war I was directly involved in was roughly 40 years ago....

Good grief!

While I was looking for my crew mates at the Vietnam Memorial this year, that did not come home. The thought came to me that the time span between today and when I served was 54 years. which is longer than the time span between the end of the Civil War and the end of WWI, 53 years.

we were bought up in singapore during the ''Malayan emergency"and lived there during busiest part of vietnam war.American carrier groups in on a regular basis on R&R.Probaly got to go round more us carriers than most us servicemen.Ironic that the only time, including airforce service that i found myself in harms way was as a civilian crew member on canberra
