Movie talk: Covenant ...WTH?

So, I finally watched the Alien: Covenant and there is a hole big enough for a train to drive through and I need an answer. If I get it right, the Engineers created Human and the Human-Weyland Industries created David the first synthetic that killed the Engineers and then proceeds to go around killing everybody with his own creation, the Alien. Walter was the 2nd synthetic, then we have Ash, and Bishop was the last. So, what about the Predator? Who created the Predator? What is the relationship between Predator and Engineers or Predator with Alien? David didn't create the Alien till the 'Covenant' which is time set way into the future. So where the Alien from 'Alien vs Predator' set in modern day coast of Antarctica a century before Weyland Industries Prometheus goes to space came from? And then 'Aliens vs Predator' again, modern time in Colorado...? Both series overlap each other, time travel? David time traveled the Aliens back to earth? Somebody busy making movies but forgot to connect things or not trying very hard so now the whole Alien and Predator series doesn't make sense to me... WTH? I am officially confused...

Oh, it's probably best not to think about such things, even trying to follow your synopsis made my head hurt. Seriously, consider the audience for which these movies were intended. I'm pretty sure those people just want to see epic monster battles.

As far as plot holes go, after Indiana Jones hitchhiked on that Nazi sub, all others get a pass.

Seriously...Predator has absolutely nothing to do with Alien.
Never did.

Also keep in mind, all the different people who have carried on the Alien franchise.
None of them Ridley Scott...the man responsible for the original Alien.
So you end up with different minds messing with the same stories.

By the way...There is only one Alien film...Alien by Ridley Scott.
Aliens (Alien 2) cashed in on the Alien interest, but was a James Cameron rip-off.
(It totally ruined the concept if you ask me)
All the other trash that followed, should not even be considered.

Now Ridley is trying to backtrack and give us some sort of sequel/prequel to Alien,
but he really didn't want to do another Alien film...he made Prometheus instead. [Good for him]
But then he tried to connect it somehow to Alien, which just twisted the storyline and made things confusing.

But Ridley has always been good at twisting his own words to match things later on! lol
So he figured out an explanation.

Then...Covenant... takes place quite a while after Prometheus...
but doesn't really follow as a sequel, it jumps too far ahead.
A webisode (that nobody saw) explains some of what happens in the interim
and some of the time gap is explained by David in the film(Covenant).

By this time, Ridley has really messed up the Alien species and evolution
and totally confused the whole Android story (which is what these movies are all about now!LOL.
As for where Ash and Bishop came from?... you just better forget about it.

Now...back to the Predator connection.
After the original Predator movie came out, nerd fans hypothesized about who would win in a fight...Predator or Alien?.
And the makers of Predator had fun with this concept, by sneaking an Easter Egg into the second Predator movie.
In a scene inside the Predator spacecraft, a Trophy room is shown full of Hunting Trophies.
Amongst the skulls hanging on the walls, is what looks like an Alien head.

After that, those same nerd fans begged for an Alien versus Predator movie,
and eventually the studio got around to it, finally bringing the two franchises together.
In AvP it is explained that the Alien creature is what Predators hunt for sport and practice.
I seem to remember the claim that the Alien was specifically bred for this purpose,
but I could be totally wrong on that idea...so don't quote me.

And of course, Ridley Scott has nothing to do with the Alien mockery after the the original Alien
so don't try to connect Predator with Prometheus or Covenant or any other Scott production.

Although... knowing how Ridley Scott likes to jump on bandwagons (re: the whole Deckard is a Replicant nonsense)
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Predator show up somewhere! LOL

Bottom line is "stop trying to connect the two franchises"
...they never should have been brought together in the first place.
It figures...since it was the same time when someone decided to make Freddy versus Jason!

I am serious as any Alien & Predator fan can get and I think thing working out just fine before Covenant and Ridley come and screwed the whole story up.

I think the best way to look at it is there are four universes:

1. 1979 Alien story (Ridley Scott)...followed by Prometheus and Covenant

2. 1986 Aliens story ...rip off from someone elses origin story plus all the other Aliens sequels.

3. 1987 Predator story...and Predator 2

4. 2004 Aliens versus Predator story...followed by AvP Requiem and Predators (LMAO what a stupid set of movies)

If they remain as separate comic book series, everything is okay.
But if you try to mix the pages and formulate a bigger story, you'll run into serious problems.

Speaking of Covenant...and plotholes...

When the crew land on the Planet where David resides, they discover Wheat.
Point being that its a clue that someone from Earth is there.

Forget the fact that David had no need to plant or grow Wheat...doesn't eat,
and his focus was breeding an alien lifeform.
And Shaw didn't last long enough to want or need Wheat planted.

But where the hell did the Wheat come from?
Shaw and David arrived on the Engineers spacecraft.
So it didn't have wheat seeds...did it?
Even Promotheus wasn't carrying wheat seeds.

After the 1st Alien and the 1st Predator, the few I saw after that was mainly to watch creatures and people get killed in creepy ways and things go boom.

And, yeah, were did that damn wheat come from? And growing up on a farm, how is growing that well in that climate?

The Engineers planned the wheat, they seed the earth, created man in Engineers (God) image, remember. What did the colonialists bring with them to their designation? Plants from earth. So, the Engineers brought wheat to earth and trees and everything else. I have no problem with that part. I totally buy it.

Engineers? it wasn't the Engineers planet that David was on.

And it wasn't an organized planting of wheat on that planet
...it was just a random wheat outcrop in a valley.
Unless David decided to drop some wheat seeds when he spread the deadly virus thing? But why?

Are you suggesting they had wheat seeds on that ship that was used to carry the deadly mutagen to the planet that Prometheus visited?
For what purpose?
The Engineers were preparing or stockpiling the deadly mutagen on that planet to deliver to Earth and who knows where else.
Why would they have Wheat with them too?

They seeded the planet with a species...not plants.
As you see in the beginning of Prometheus, looks like plants were already there on Earth.

The point of the scene was discovering something from Earth
...when they were already hunting for a Human (they knew about the missing Doctor Shaw).
...they were following a John Denver music radio transmission.
...the point was to find something that shouldn't have been there.

Sorry, but the Wheat doesn't make sense to me.
