Ted,
Think of the page as a fan page, just another way to to engage with the papermodeling masses. Actually, we have two locations on facebook, one a Page, and one a group. the group page is where most of the action happens, people post their builds, ask questions, share new found models. The page is a bit more of a PR platform for us, I share information about the forum there, if it is down, or back up, or about some contest we are holding, or sharing info like Alan Rose's obit, or other paper modeling related items. The group link is https://www.facebook.com/groups/119417595990/ The page link is https://www.facebook.com/papermodelerscom/ and if you are on facebook, and want to be friends with me https://www.facebook.com/rickstef I know there will be members of the forum who will yell at me for sharing this, saying they don't do facebook, that is ok, no need for you do so, but this is just information for those who are members, want to join, and have another manner in which to talk paper models. it is only two out of a couple of hundred pages/groups talking about paper models and modeling, in virtually all the worlds' languages. Rick

A good think about having the Facebook page and group, is that people who don't usually surf the web (but are very active in Facebook) when searching internally in the Facebook search box, will have the Papermodelers group and fanpage as part of the results when they look for "paper models".
There's a lot of followers in Facebook. And some people only use the Facebook page to share their builds and findings because they just don't use/like the forum system and never share their builds here.

and Facebook has a built in translation feature, so anyone from another country can translate on the fly what is said

Rick thanks for the links. was just kidding about the facebook. my kids keep me up on stuff. I am uncomfortable with my whereabouts being generally known to the grand public. not a criminal or anything unsavory but I wouldn't like some folks knowing that much bout me...
