I can't see why the studios keep trying to resurrect old series. There's been some really good sci fi series in the last few years but they get cancelled after a couple of seasons yet recycled rubbish like the new Star Trek gets trotted out as if it's going to be any better than the last recycling.

Personally I'd rather watch Dark Matter (cancelled after 3 of a 5 season story arc), Sense8 (cancelled after 2 seasons), The Expanse (we might get a 3rd season), Humans (will get to season 3)

at least they "finished" the farscape series as a long movie like episode. I still have a whole in my heart from the cancellation of firefly. I guess if it didn't have screen to screen lasers/ phasers/ disruptors and space explosions a plenty it wasn't "shiney" enough for the common audience

Well, The Expanse seems to have a good following. But yes I do miss the crew of Serenity and their shenanigans.

I didn't put Firefly in the list because the cancellation was such an egregious act by the TV execs.

Even Babylon 5 didn't have a chance to wind up in anything other than an unseemly rush.

Apparently the Star Trek: Discovery episodes have made into the Pirate Bay's top 10 torrent downloads only 24 hours after screening. Guess lots of people also
didn't want to sign up to CBS streaming. Looking on the 'Bay I'd estimate there are at least 9000 seeds over about 10 torrents.

We're not supposed to be able to access the Pirate Bay from Australia - yeah that works real well .......

You know if enough folks complain, they might get Abrams to reboot Firefly. Let's hope not.

Firefly also gets my vote for top of the list.

Agreed!

And agreed on The Expanse (my favorite) and Humans (awesome!).

Dark Matter cancelled...wtf. Although the storyline has gone a little wonky of late, its still a very good show...with a lot left to give us.

The Firefly cancelation might be considered an aberration...
kind of like the original Star Trek debacle...
someone not paying proper attention and making a big mistake in ending an underated series.
But an attempt at a reboot was a big kerfuffle.
Then a (good) movie sequel gets made...but they drop the ball with any sort of followup.
Now the cast are too old and one's dead...

Even the online multiplayer game (with all original cast) turned out to be a massive rip off.

Something tells me this was destined to end when it did.

I think its better to produce something new
and stay away from prequels and sequels.
I think its okay to produce something with inspiration from an earlier series or movie
but just don't start messing with the original canon.

I dont care what you say, this...is a Klingon.

I win. I don't have to waste time trying to 'give it a chance', since it's only on pay services. In 20 years either BBCAmerica or SyFy will do a marathon

I might do what one of my friends suggested, wait until all the episodes are available on cbs, buy one month worth of access, and binge watch them over a weekend
