i have a Cameo 2 which i have used to cut many models i have done, including most of my recent Trek builds. i can say i have advanced knowledge of the machine and the Studio software. I highly recommend the machine it does a good job with cutting once you figure out how to set it up.

i gave up on using the Pepakura viewer and used a different method. i export the PDO file to multiple .png and .dxf files and import them into studio. resize to desired dimensions ect...

for PDF files i use PDFILL tools to split them into multiple png files. import them into studio and use the line tool to trace the cut lines for each part.

if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask i will try to help you as best i can.

Can you save files in different formats, like pdf, ai, eps, cdr, etc?

You can import different formats, depending on what version you have (standard, Designer, or Business), but you cannot save/export to different formats.

Wulf111- Glad to hear of an expert-level user in our neck of the woods! I will definitely keep this in mind if I have any questions.

the only format that Studio will save in is .studio. but if you use the cutepdf virtual printer you can print each page to a PDF format, and then use pdfill tools to combine the individual files into one PDF.

I would be interested, especially using a PDF printer.

i have developed a tutorial on how i use the silhouette studio software to create the cut files and PDF files out of Pepakura's PDO file that has the registration marks for cutting using the Silhouette Cameo craft cutter.

I have always used Adobe Illustrator to make the precisely accurate cut lines, then used the Silhouette plug-in within Illustrator to cut directly to the Cameo cutter. Job done!
