Hybrid Paper/Electronics Project

I had a thought of combining paper modeling and electronics into a hybrid project. I was thinking along the lines of combining this:

With this:

Mixing my favorite two hobbies! I think this would be really cool. I think I would even try to make the 3d printed parts from some really stiff cardboard. Maybe laminate them with some inner support structures. Not sure, but I sure am going to try it and see!
Anyone else here interested in electronics? Arduinos and such?

I have experience in control algorithms, but not so much in hardware. Was making a start on Arduino so would love to hear your experiences

If you do build it (and that would be awesome), please post a detailed build thread and tutorial.

Cool, cool!!! My Arduino experience is very limited, but I am having fun just tinkering around. I will definitely start a thread and document the project. I'll be doing this one and making another character as well. Probably throw out some questions when I run into problems

I ordered and have the little servos in hand. I have an old Arduino Nano for the control board...But, I was thinking maybe I should start with something a little less complex to cut my teeth on. I was looking at some qaudruped walker designs when it hit me. I should do a biped, like the old wind up toys. I came across a few videos like this one:

Already made from paper, and with a simple dc motor for power! This would fit perfectly in a design like Chani:

I think this would be a less ambitious, yet good stepping stone to a full on hex with a complex Tank Bot body on top.
