Thanks to all of you who have expressed your support. I found this place just a few months ago and it has been a long sought haven for me. Finding guys like Don Boose, Rata, Kacper, Airdave and so many others has been great.
I know I don't express myself very well for those who don't have English as their primary language. I am working on that. I know I get too political here for what is supposed to be a fun place to cut up paper. To many of you Vietnam and any wars are just a few lines in a history book. But to some of us here it is very real and we relive this history every day. To those of us who lived through it we need to remember those who did not and to do all we can so that all the young men of today will not experience the same things. I can tell you that war is hell but the memories are a very close second. Every once in a while I will get a PM from someone here calling me out on something I have said. But for every one of those I feel there are 10 who enjoy some of my jests and weird jokes. As I have said every family has to have a weird Uncle who no one wants to talk about. I guess I am that Uncle. In any case Habanada https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lyEbtCVEqU

First problem is, everyone has a soap box and a personal issue, gripe or agenda....
some soap boxes are hardly used...some are so worn out, they should be swapped for a sturdy ladder. Its easy to become redundant and annoying if you bring out that soapbox too many times. (LOL holding a mirror at this moment) Forums and Message Boards tend to bring out the orator in many, the crusader in others, the bs artists and the annoying pests (lol). Its something we get used to...or not. I get southwestforests basic point... I cannot stand poorly worded thread titles or titles that don't help you search, re-search, or help you randomly find topics that are of merit. Misleading titles are another problem...especially if it hides malicious content or spam. In this case, Michaels thread was a touchy example since it addresses a real and personal subject. A subject that people might benefit from understanding. A subject that not everyone wants to read, or read repeatedly (no matter how important). I know what Michaels is all about, and what he posts about. It only took me a second of reading the first few lines, to realize the topic. To be honest, I wasn't in the mood to read it at the time it was posted and so I bailed. I'm waiting for another AMAZING collection of "I was there" photos!! Boy I enjoyed that post! But my point is, we can all choose to ignore whatever posts and threads we want. Nobody is forcing you to click on something or read anything. Something can be said for "toning it down"...not pushing a point until you drive people away (or they start to avoid your threads). ... But I really don't know why his thread is referred to as "clickbait" or "worthless spam"? There are no links or redirects within Michaels post. There are no ads ...or requests for "Trip Donations". Other than a title that doesn't clearly explain what the thread is about, it is far from a lie or deliberate attempt to lure you in with a lie. It was a legitimate topic posted around a time of increased Patriotism in the US. Maybe there is an underlying issue? something between these two? Or, maybe southwestforests is just tired of "Message Board Mouths" in general. In which case, he better stay out of my threads! LOL ... Keep posting Michaels! Viet Nam and all those sobering topics should always come up. Obviously, post them in the right areas...but keep it coming! But how about a more descriptive or "to the point" title next time? hunh?

Wow...
I guess so much genius was used on writing a thread title with meaning that there was nothing left to use to write a good thread...

or very simply hover over the title and the content or first few sentences are given that would let you choose to open the thread.

Yep, that is what I do sometimes. It is a very helpful feature.
