Today in History, July 18, 1914 – The U.S. Congress forms the Aviation Section, U.S. Signal Corps, giving official status to aircraft within the U.S. Army for the first time.

My Dad's WWII primary flight logbook. June 5 1944 (one day after D Day) to June 21. He soloed in 10 hours which is pretty incredible.

He was in training when the war ended. I am still searching for his other logbooks, etc.

My Great Niece now has his leather flight jacket.
