My Father's Flight log books

Not trying to blow my own horn here but I came across these the other days. They are my Father's flight logs from 1944. The first entries are June 5, 1944 (1 day before D Day). The last entries are for June 22, 1944. He soloed with only 10 hours of flight time!! Any of you who are aviators will know that this is extraordinary.

Awesome! I wonder if that Aeronca is still flying somewhere... the FAA Registration Records indicate that the Airworthiness Certificate was Canceled in 1953, so it might not be flying anymore...

Hi Mike,
Very cool that you have your Dad's flight log books.

I have my Dad's flight log books from WWII and Korea also.
They are very nice to have and see what your Dad
did back during the war.
You have to be proud.
Best Regards,
Gary

He went on for further training. I think he wound up staying stateside as an instructor pilot.

In any case the wear ended before he actually saw action. Other than the terrible Mexican border wars of 1944 - 45) My Mom left the room when that subject came up....
