The top does look like one, doesn't it? I have considered making hood ornament "sculptures" in the past. Maybe sometime in the future.

i'll give a couple of hints. The original design was started in 1946, and was to have a cruising speed of Mach 1.8.

Hood Ornament models... now there is a great idea for a whole series of models! Would love to see a model of one of the Hudson/Essex Terraplane's hood ornaments...

hmmm - the one missile thatcomes to mind is the M-62 Snark. This is the original concept?
