There are many talented people here.
I don't single out any one and call them "guru" or "sensei".

I was honest about the fact that I wasn't sure who you were talking about.
I even admitted that I should (might) know who he was.
I guess thats not good enough in your book.

I answered a question, gave a little more explanation about what is happening with ecardmodels
and gave my opinion with regards to the topic and original question.
How is that smug or condescending?
And, who am I talking down to?...other than you, now?...
you need to explain to who, where and when?

Airdave, I was holding back because it was early in the day, but you continue to be one condescending individual. as a matter of fact I don't actually know who you are or what you've actually done, besides talking down to all of us. Some of us see Brent's work and like what he has done and are anxious to get his repaints, as for your free kit, I would not waste the effort to press the mouse key to get it.

Glad to see others on this forum willing to step up about some of the attitudes that some here seem to think they have the right to have because that have been around a while. In most cases this is a very friendly and pleasant place to be with thankfully only a few exceptions.

My post was meant to be a question to address an issue that I felt could possibly provide a solution. I will certainly think twice about any such further attempts.

Thanks Rick...now I actually know who Brent is (since I don't follow every designer, or all repaints, or the complete SnP line)
It was a legitimate and honest admission that I might have (should have known) who he was but couldn't recall.

I never made any negative comments about Brent, I was speaking in general terms about what designers might consider doing with their models (since ecards is down for the time being).
But since I also know that many designers don't want to deal with the store, the sales, and the work involved in selling models,
so I passed along that thought also.

I did nothing but give you a little more info about why there is a holdup with ecards.
It wasn't meant as anything more than that...so if you read anything more than that into it,
you are wrong.
MichaelsS...you dont seem to like anything I say.
Which is unfortunate, since i have enjoyed many of the threads you have started.

The (somewhat incomplete) comment about a free model...i typed a bit too fast...
was just a followup reference to the fact that I was releasing a model that I had promised earlier this week.
Maybe this thread had nothing to do with it...it was just another joke about keeping you in models until ecards returned.

Its called a public forum or message board.
Which means, there are going to be members with soapboxes.

It might help you the next time you can't understand why someone is answering your post.

This thread was basically a question about "why ecardmodels can't offer up an alternative way" to sell you models (because you can't get your fix of "Brent's" models).
Nobody else from ecardmodels answered, so I did (since I am on staff there in case you didn't know).

But now I've been accused of being smug and condescending.
I honestly don't know where (in my post) or how it relates to my post.
Nothing was meant that way.
So if something was typed incorrectly, and you misread it, I can apologize for the misunderstanding...but the information still stands.
And so why is there a need to go on a tirade about me?

Chris G is working very hard to repair and rebuild his store.
It costs time, money and effort.
The man has a life, a family, a job...how is that ME being condescending or smug?
Its just facts that maybe you haven't considered.
We've been asked this question multiple times in the last few weeks and its been explained multiple times.

Now you suggest that Chris should somehow stop what he is doing
to create another method of allowing you to shop in the interim.
Thats rude and ignorant in itself... but I didn't bother suggesting that.
Instead, I suggested that you may not understand how much work is already being done,
how much work we (Chris and his staff) face,
AND how much more work it would be to create another store for you here on the forum.
Thats not being smug...its being factual about the situation.

I am well aware that there are designers who are losing money.
And that there are customers who want their "fix".

I suggested that designers could sell their own wares if they wanted to,
but I also offered Michael a tidbit of information that I have learned (being involved with other designers).
Many of them don't want to do the work themselves.
Again, this is nothing more than information related to the original post.
Once again, I ask you how or why this is "smug and condescending"?

Michaelss...I have been around here a lot longer than you.
I have offered up a lot more advice, opinions and assistance to those who have asked for it.
No, that doesn't give me any special privelages over you or anyone else.
But it does mean that I have put a lot of time and effort into participating in this community over the last 10 years or so
and I don't mind being recognized for that. (I'll admit it)
And if you ask a question (which you did) then I have the right to offer up an answer.
Just because you don't like me, doesn't make my answers to your question any less valid...or smug or condescending.

Again, it sounds like you have misinterpreted something I have written as being condescending (when it honestly wasn't meant that way)
and a simple clarification might have cleared that up (had you asked).

Instead, you feel the need to apply some insult with to my work.
As I explained, the "free model" was more a joke related to the "its not like you don't have enough models" comment.
Maybe poorly typed and presented in this context, but nothing more.
I don't give a rats ass if you like my free model, want my free model, or break your finger downloading it.
It wasn't meant for you anyway.
It was meant for anyone who wants it with no expectation of whether you like me or want my advice on this forum.

but this IS a public forum...and it IS all about asking questions and/or giving answers.
I am the first who criticizes anyone who tells anyone else what they HAVE to build or how they MUST build it.
But offering an opinion when asked, or suggesting a method is totally acceptable in my opinion.
And I won't listen to anyone who tells me I can't offer up my advice or opinion...
or complains about the facts in my answer, just because they don't like it, (or don't like me).

So here you go...heres my apology for offering some info, and having you misunderstand it, and then having to endure your insults.
Ecardmodels will be back online when its ready and I'm sure Chris will do a great job with it.
I can't wait...but then again, I can...its not that hard.
