Try Chrome, it seems the site is optimized for that one

I also have no issues in Chrome. Or in DuckDuckGo.
Try the latter if you don't have Chrome - Chrome is very good but it can hog a lot of resources, so if you do not use it regularly DDG would be a better bet. Or one of the other "light" browsers.

Popped right open in Chrome which I use for a few others things that doesn't work well in IE. Scanned around a bit and didn't hear anything to knock by socks off. Although will have to check out the reggae and Afrobeat stuff a bit more.

Yes, try some of the small town radio stations.
Do a search for list of npr stations. One of the hits should be a direct download of a pdf from NPR org with a list of the affiliated stations in the USA. You can find the stations close to where you live and input a station call sign in the Radio Garden search and it will display if the station is available. Here are some stations on the NPR list in Arizona that pop up in Radio Garden: Phoenix KJZZ-FM 91.5 Flagstaff KPUB-FM 91.7 Flagstaf KNAU-FM 88.7 Tucson KUAZ-AM 1550 Tucson KUAT-FM 90.5

This program is fantastic ... I've been leapin' around all over the world since I loaded it. It worked great for me straight off using Chrome on Win10pro. I was shocked to see just how many local stations there are in the UK.Don't seem to be able to find any of the BFBS stations though.

Didn't spend much time on there (spend too much time on computer as is). KJZZ in Phoenix (actually Maricopa County Community Colleges from Tempe) is the one I stream and have in the car for NPR during the day. Don't like the music they play except occasionally the blues show on Sunday night.

John - there is a search button at the top.
BFBS brings up a few. Look up an app called Podcast Republic. I use it on my phone and tablet. It does both Radio and Podcasts, works well and let's you save save stations etc.

This Radio Garden is funny.
Its hilarious what I'm listening to in the strangest of locations. I just finished listening to Prince's Purple Rain...from Mata'utu, Wallis and Futuna Islands somewhere remote in the South Pacific Ocean. Yesterday I had some cool house trance and techno playing from Ulaanbaatar Mongolia!! Wow, I just found Godley and Creme's (10cc) One Night in Paris...seriously the full length version... coming from Dali, China (looks like absolute nowhere in the mountains of China!) What you expect, is NOT what you find from around the world.

It is good.
Everyone here in the house is bemused by the strange stations blaring out - especially when the announcer says "This is Radio blah blah" (some obscure place). Eyes pop out etc.
