15 years without a "Man In Black"...
Exactly 15 years ago, on September 12th 2003 we lost Johnny Cash...
I could say a lot about him but I think it would be the best to quote Bob Dylan who once said: "John was and is the North Star and you could guide your ship by him."... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t51MHUENlAQ

Not showing my age or anything, but I can still remember when Johnny was more famous than that young upstart Elvis.
And he outlived him too. If ever a man truly "did his own thing" it was him. Way to go JC ... We miss ya fella. Here's hopin' you and June are back together and entertainin' the angels.

I'll never forget an episode of Dukes of Hazzard with Johnny Cash in Boss Hoggs bar.
He had to sing in order to pay off a fictitious traffic violation. Johnny Cash sang Pretty Woman with Kathrine Bach (Daisy) sitting in the bartop behind him. Two greats together, brilliant. https://youtu.be/puJ99egc884

I'm afraid that was the Big O ... Roy Orbison, not Johnny Cash, but I did enjoy watchin' it (Especially Daisy). I've not seen that before and it's now safely ripped into my archives for further enjoyment.

Spot on John, you passed the "spot the deliberate mistake" test.
Nah, I just had a brain fart, again, sorry. In the list of favorite music videos I watch the one with The Big O and Daisy is followed with Johnny Cash from Grand Ole Opry in 1962. I guess my mind mingled the two. Try this one. https://youtu.be/bczfyoafHBk

I like the part where K tells J to push the Red Button.
The same red Button he told J never to push. And then the car transforms and goes real fast and runs on the ceiling of the Tunnel. Thats my favorite Man in Black part. That and the part where K goes and gets his gun back from the Bug. I like Man in Black...the second one wasn't as good...but the third one was much better!

Whoo hoo. You've hit another one I've not seen before. Not a particularly good performance by JC though , but I loved the Luther Perkins solo bit. It makes a change for Johnny to move away to give Luther centre stage. In most videos I've seen Johnny likes to pretend that he is playing the solo bit, but Luther's riffs are always so recognisably different from anyone else. There's a few vids around where they teach the Luther style of playing. I've tried, but never been able to master it on my old classical flat top. One day maybe a Fender Strat will come my way. Well I can dream can't I?
Ummm? I got a feelin' maybe Dave is talkin' about a different "Man in Black" to the rest of us ????

Cash had many great songs. Recently I discovered his version of "Heart of Gold". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drsMyeXzLSo

If you feel like getting sad and mellow check out his cover of Nine Inch Nail's 'Hurt'.

My all time favourite Johnny Cash album is "Bitter Tears", but it's probably 'cos there's a little bit of Cherokee blood in my veins from a great great grandma.
There's a few Cash CDs on my racks, but there's also 20 or so LP records in a cupboard, and yes, I do still have a HiFi turntable to play them on. Googling for a picture of Bitter Tears, I just found a reference to "Look Again to the Wind ... Bitter Tears Revisited". Followed it up and a CD is now winging it's way to me via Amazon. I've not heard of this one before. Is it any good? Seems like it may be a documentary about the making of Bitter Tears, but I've not heard The "We're still here" track before.
