We hope that when it reaches the ground it will decrease and it will not cause much damage.

I believe there may be a hurricane target on my roof. This will be number 13 since we had our house built in 1996. We have made all the preparations we could and now just await for the really big lady to show up.
In our previous hurricane experiences the biggest problem has been the loss of power. The power company now estimates us being without electricity for weeks. We might have to bathe in the ocean for a while. Thanks to everyone for all the good wishes. Paul

Irma passed OVER our house in San Antonio, Florida a year and a few days ago. It was really eerie to have the wind coming from one direction at 110+ mph, then have it go very still for about 10 minutes and then start in the other direction. We have a very well built home and barn. All we lost was tree branches. Our neighbors came over and it was all pretty much picked up in 2 days. We were without power for 4 days but we have a standby generator so we didn't lose any food.
Take care of all those you Love including your animals and try to have a hurricane party. Let us know when you come out the other side. It appears you are not evacuating?

Hope all turns out well for those in the path of 'the beast'. And lets not forget those on either side of this thing too; lots of rain predicted for a very large area. Be safe everyone!

Thanks so much. Evacs have been demanding & I am very sore today from moving materials and taping and tying down tarps to prevent possible water damage.
It's looking like the wind will be less than feared but the heavy rains of the past moths have saturated the clay soils here, making flooding a real possibility. I've moved my cars away from the low ground and helped neighbor protect his. We're helping each other and bracing for the worst, but from the threat, some of the best is coming out of us. Thanks for your thoughts and support...
