Camera Help needed

I have 2 Cameras and now can not use either

HELP!!!!!

The Vivitar has Lost focus. ALL pics are Blurred, and Zooming in
only makes them worse.
Do I need to send it out for repair??

My Kodak works Fine, but I have lost.misplaced the USB cable
I can No longer Charge it let alone move the pictures off!!
(Yes I could take the memory card out and place in a card slot, but....
Charging is Out!!

Port is Much smaller that Mini or Micro usb!!

I had a Nikon Coolpix but No cable for that one either
Sold it to a friend (grand daughter dropped his)
and his cable was perfect match

Kodak Cable was correct size, but Contacts were Upside-down compared to Nikon!!

Any one have an extra cable for my Kodak Camera??
(EasyShare M381)
Or know where I can get one cheap??

Paid Less than $50.ooUS total for all 3 cameras Clearance at
my local Wal-Mart about 3 years ago,
so No go on return/replacement!!!

I am checking both Kodak & Vivitar for info too
But since we all use cameras, I thought to check here as well

Might ask at other Model forums I am a member of too.Never hurts
to ask!

Many Thanks,
Dan

Oh yea, Vivitar is a ViviCam X029

The easiest (and probably also cheapest) is for you just to go on e-bay or Amazon..............

As far as sending out for repairs, thats an unadviseable thing to do.
Even the manufacturer will tell you its just not worth it.

These are not high end or expensive cameras to begin with
and the fact that you paid less than $20 a piece for them...is your answer.
Enjoy the time you had together...its time to say goodbye.

Come on now...cheap used cameras are everywhere.
And new cameras comparable to what you've got, are even cheaper!

Yes, I have two old Easyshare cameras that I am reluctant to throw away,
because they are superior to other small cameras from the same era.
Easyshare cameras had larger high quality glass lenses with higher optical zoom.

But my Kodaks still work okay....thats why I have kept them.
I don't use them...ever...but they still work.

And if they ever stopped working properly, I wouldn't waste any money fixing them.

If you are considering repairs, you must have enough money to buy a new camera (if not a used camera).

In my opinion, get a new camera. All brands are good but Nikon is still one of the finest if not THE finest cameras. (Digital Cameras | DSLRs, Mirrorless and Compact Cameras & Accessories | Nikon). Their Coolpix range is fantastic. I have a Coolpix P100 circa 2010 and it is like new after several hundreds of shots.

Cheap cameras are not worth repairing. Sometimes they are unrepairable. Good luck!!

Amazon. Plus or minus five bucks.

BUT, I echo the other posts. 3 years, 3 cameras fifty bucks - you've gotten your use and then some. Go back to Wally Mart and see what fifty bucks will get you today.

Found the problem with the Vivitar.
the 'Macro' switch had been moved so I was
trying to take Standard Distance Pictures in Macro mode
I found the switch, Moved it back
and Presto
IN-Focus Distance Pictures again
Still, I would Love to replace the usb cable for the Kodak

Digital cameras are usually not worth repairing because the cost is high, replacement parts uncertain, ad they are obsolete shortly after purchase. Most 3 yr old point n' shoot cameras are not even up to the quality of recently manufactured cameras on phones (most!).

It best to treat digital cameras as planned obsolete tools and trade up. There's always an option of learning to use film, for at least a back up, that never goes out of date, and the negatives and prints are also scannable for this forum.

Just some options...

Couldn't agree with you more!!!!!!!!! Film photography is making a gigantic comeback. Well, it really never left us but people are remembering how exciting it was to shoot, send to develop and the excitement of receiving the photos AND the negatives which as stated, can be scanned. Also the beauty of home's darkroom for developing black and white. The comeback is so strong that Kodak is once again manufacturing several black and white films and now, the news of the year EKTACHROME IS BACK!!!!! Good luck.

I have the Better Film Camera Kodak Offered, The Advantex
BUT......
Do they still offer that Sealed 35 MM film??????
The camera opened the reel and spooled it out when inserted
AND it would recoil the film ANYWHERE in the length to allow you to change film
You could them go back and finish--continue to use the previous spool untio finished!!
