It really can make a huge difference, I started using mine to cut and apply tiny lasercut rivets but have found I'm using it more often now, and my eyesight is starting to go a little fuzzy as I approach 50. I would need a magnifying glass just to find my cutting mat if it was as small as yours.

I have an old lighted magnifier from my Air Force days. It's over 40 years old and still going strong.

They have some at Widget Supply (that's where I got mine) just search for Magnifiers/Wearable. They also have tons of tools that may be hard to find, wherever you may live.
