Somebody at your work or where you have internet doesn't like Southwest Airlines... which is pretty sad.

The Southwest website works fine for me here in Dallas.

Thanks Ryan for posting the brief.

------------------------

No - not an IT issue and am at home now - still does not work.

Searched on Southwest Airlines and tried all their sites (including mobile) - the same result. Also with the VPN (which I used for various locations).

I guess this means that they have restricted their sites outside the USA.

Strange, but I guess if that is their choice? I assume they are just domestic and not partnered internationally with anyone?

As I remember the movie about the crash on the Hudson, the pilot couldn't over ride the computer to raise the nose to put the wings in a position to use some ground effect to help with landing on the water. I know this was a different plane, no engine power and a very experienced pilot, but still not being able to over ride the computer?

Interesting, but yeah, they are BIG but domestic. Maybe they just don't want to pay for bandwidth they don't expect to benefit from.
I think they are one of the biggest current MAX users.

No difficulty of access from here, so there you are Kevin, either it's personal or they think Australians more likely than South Africans to want to travel on American domestic carriers.

I'd like it if we could put this thread on hold at least till we have some definite info from the investigations.

Boeing's 737 Max has a new problem that will ground some of the jets again - CNN

Interesting that CNN says that "Boeing (BA) did not identify which 16 airlines are affected by this alert, or how many of the planes are affected by the problem.".

Completely different to the 737MAX scenario where the computer was overiding or reversing the actions of the pilots.
