Tank Recognition Paper Model

Paper model used for tank recognition training in WW2. I posted it here since it may not be possible to download the entire model.

since this is a WW2 model published by the nazi government, would there be a legal issue to cleaning it and posting it for others to download ?

It is a piece of history, and as such, we treat it that way.

following your train of thought all the way to the end, should we stop making models of all WWII Axis materiel?
Should we stop making models of American Civil War, WWI, Vietnam or Korea?

Designer / publisher Dr Matthiesen was also responsible for a large series of plane models - all without landing gear! They were very cheap, and helped in getting the population to recognise planes in flight. This came in handy when plane spotters became a sought after article when WWII broke out. Officially, they were meant for young members of the pre-war National Sozialistisches Flieger Korps, which actively promoted glider flying for young boys. Guess what these glider pilots quickly became when the war really started...

Hi All,

I believe marc pasquin's question dealt more with copyright and piracy issues than with political correctness. To that end, I think it would be acceptable to clean and post the model on this forum for others to build, collect and enjoy. The copyright has surely lapsed on these recognition models and I am thinking of building both this example and the T-34 mentioned above. And I'd like to see some of the aircraft, too.

However, be advised that your honest efforts to clean and post the model might well become a frustration when you see your work for sale on one or another of the foreign pirate sites that profit from the talents of others. Ultimately, we can't stop these thieves, except to encourage fellow modelers and new paper model hobbyists to not treat with the enemy.

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog
