Just the normal attachment stuff, when you see a thumbnail size image in the post.

Click the thumbnail, and the screen goes dark while an image loads in a smaller window.
I would guess that the larger the image, the longer it might take, but attachment images are limited in size (are they not?).
So, it shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 seconds for the biggest image to load.
For me, some never seem to load...or I give up after about 30 seconds or so.

Heres a great example....
I have already cleared my temp and cache.
I just loaded this page: Northrop N9M crash
Second post (by Isaac) I clicked on the first thumbnail.
It took over 19 seconds to load.
Then I clicked on the second image...just over 16 seconds.
Pics aren't that big to take that long.
As I said, sometimes the images never load.

Inline(linked) images load with the posts, no problem.

Those way-too-big images, that have the yellow resize bar, have nothing to do with what I am talking about.
At the moment, I can't say how well those load.
I don't know where one is to test.

Ok, do you have any issues with images attached at the bottom of a post?
Like the tram pictures from Philip The Blue Tram

I took a look at Issac's method of attaching pictures, he is using the Attach tags, not sure if there is a difference, I know that Philip has placed his pictures in his gallery here on the forum, and I am not sure what Issac does with his.
If both are being hosted here on the forum, then pure database size could be the culprit, when we had an upgrade, Jason told me the entire database for the forum stood over 60 Gigabytes.

Maybe we are victims of our own success.

Have had the slow loading problem also when I click on a thumbnail. Long time problem including before I moved so it was a different provider. When I click and go to open in new window, it opens right up in the new window. I can close that and then just click on the thumbnail and I guess since its in cache now it opens right up.

first pic took just over 6 seconds to appear...second took 9 seconds...third took 8 seconds.

Faster than that other example, but still not fast enough.
And, as I mentioned before, its a bit hit and miss.
Sometimes a quick load, but mostly slow loads.

Well, the server behaved itself for a couple of days, but the curse struck again yesterday evening, when I was unable to connect to the site between at least 8.45pm and 12.30am the following morning (UK time). As Rick asked, I've taken a couple of screenshots. The first is an image from Firefox and the second from Internet Explorer after I'd clicked the Fix Connection Problems button. It's not easy to see in the image but the text in the small window says "Your computer appears to becorrectly configured, but the device or resource (www.papermodelers.com) is not responding". So there you go.

As for the loading of thumbnails, I've never had a problem with that: 3-6 seconds every time. Can't grumble.
