China fights against piracy?
With all the topics and discussions we have about copyrights and piracy,
its nice to report on something positive. One of the worst offenders when it comes to ripoffs and piracy are Chinese vendors on sites like AliBaba, Amazon and eBay. I was very happy to hear that they are fighting against piracy and copyright infringement from within their own country. At first it makes you laugh...the names and the ways products and packaging are copied. But its serious business. $30 million in counterfeit Lego bricks sold to date. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world...D=ansmsnnews11

It's now "mysteriously vanished" from AliExpress, but at one time, 'Alice Papermodel' was selling copies of paper models of all subjects. A lot of the kits they were selling I know for a fact came from designers who offered their own creations for free, like Julius Perdana, Uhu02, and the like.

I have a feeling it's just a token of "good faith" to appease trade organisations.Chinese economy exists in large part due to piracy of intellectual property, enforcing those laws now and paying for lawful use will erode it too far and too fast.
They are not the only ones in this situation and I doubt all culprits will bend to "international law" any time soon, surely not within my lifetime. Bottom line-don't get your hopes up. |
