It is so hard to understand the mentality that says "it is great fun to destroy others' works"
Whether it is modeling or something else very personal, the wanton destruction of such raises serious issues of character.

Unbelievable. Vile.

Awesome move by Rod Stewart.

That sounds like a story for a movie. Why do I see Clint Eastwood as a seasoned paper modeler. With a shot gun. And an old Camaro. Any of you guys look like Clint? They for sure will need a double when showing real paper modeling

Angry

That's a total disaster! Man, 25 years of work! I have seen things like this in the past, but this is the worst!! I had a model boat stolen from Witton Lakes in Birmingham back in the day. It was a bunch of local hooligans.

VERY SAD!

I guess the kids will think that they deserve a trophy too.

That scene makes my numb.

As a follow up to this story, the four teenagers responsible were sentenced in August last year. Three of them were handed 12 month 'referral orders' while, having done around £30,000 worth of damage, their parents were ordered to pay £500 compensation (!!!!!).

News item here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-49397838

Episodes like this reflect so badly on young people, the majority of whom are really great kids.
It also makes you despair of our justice system, surely something more constructive could have been done, as suggested in previous posts.

On a positive note, a crowdfunding page set up for the club raised over £100,000, which I think gives a truer reflection of the wider world. The club plans to create a charitable trust to engage young people in model making projects.

The news item is here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-49409246

More details are on the clubs own web site here: https://www.mdmrc.org/stamford-disaster.html

It could be said that at least some good came out of a very distressing (and totally mindless) incident.
