Another day at ICN

So, my sister went home today, back to good old London. I can't help but to feel jealous, since I haven't been there for a very long time.

Anyway, after saying goodbye, I went to my favourite place to watch 'em birds come and go, a coffee shop near the departure gates. As far as I know, there's a very small number of places where you can properly enjoy the airliners. I've been to an aircraft "observatory" a few kilos away, but man, you could get run over by a bus on the way.... Too unsafe. Another place is the two ends of th Terminal 1's main building- you can see some on final approach, or some departing. The view is limited, but if sound is an important element to you, it's a place to go.

I've seen a lot of my favourites today. My favourite spot was the big logo Asiana 777, haven't seen them for years!!!
That G-ZBJA is the aircraft my sister was in. Same registration as the one I built a few years back.

My phone camera is really bad, but anyway, here are some shots.

A few more photos. It started to rain hard after the BA 787 started to taxi. It was really cool to see the water spraying everywhere.

Cool

Nice photos.

It was back in early 2000's that I spent a few weeks working there with the GE On Wing Support organization.

and I stopped by during the airport construction as well while working with the Kimpo folks at KAL and Asiana.

Here is an old picture from 2002

Great photo there, the World Cup was a pretty big deal back then. (I was still in my mother's womb!!!)
Early 2000s Korea must've been quite interesting!! Do you still work in the airline business?

I just retired full time work, but still working part time and also now volunteering at the US Air Force museum as well as the Wright B flyer museum.

It was fun time in Korea for World cup. I got a few nice awards supporting the airlines efforts.

Cool that you got awards!! You must've worked very hard!!

Yesterday, I was at ICN again. When my sister left, she left her Canon EOS 70D behind, so I took it with me. I've never used a professional camera before, so I stuck to a camera mode that was mostly straightforward (they call it the no-brainer mode).
I'd really like to find some better viewing spots...

I was there in August, and remembered the airport had a very nice viewing deck. These are great pictures!
