This is sad news indeed.
The Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom tour was scheduled to be in Westminster, MD this weekend.
God Bless

This is a tragedy. My father (RIP), got a free flight in the Niine-0-Nine about 10 years ago because he had donated an authentic piece of B-17 history that the Collings Foundation didn't have (pilot/co-pilot pre-flight responsibilities checklist). I wouldn't be surprised if it was hanging right there in cockpit when she went down. I've been through the plane and have spoken to the crew a couple of times. Awful.

Sad news... As much as we like to see vintage aircraft flying, these things may happen sooner or later

I flew aboard Nine O Nine in April of this year. I’ll see if any of my photos show it.

I’m glad I got a chance to take a flight before this wonderful piece of history was lost.

Sad to hear. This crash will only add more arguments for grounding vintage planes, definitely for stopping rides in them.I can imagine insurance lawyers going at it.

Horrendous tragedy. Heart goes out to the deceased and their families.
Went through the Nine "O Nine a number of years ago at our local airport.
