Oh man that's 3 people in the last couple of days that were important to my interests that have passed. Have a couple of books with his art work and several models of his movie designs that I need to get to some day. Guess that's one of the problems of getting old: even if you're doing ok; you're losing personal ones around you, or people you admired.

But with all his work, which model is most appropriate to build to honor his memory?

I still have that one, but I gave away the Sentinel 400. Maybe I will do that one again

Maybe the best way to remember Syd Mead is to learn about his design process, and what inspired him.

Here are a few blog and YouTube interviews.

Long time Syd Mead art fan...

I think the Sentinel Limousine is the most iconic of Mead's car creations.
Not only did it grace the cover of one of his books,
but I believe its the most reprinted image of his.

It inspired many other artwork designs, was used by Cadillac, and was recreated by Hot Wheels toys.
I always thought it was too low to get into and would be uncomfortable to ride in.
But its still very cool!

But the Blade Runner vehicles will always be my favorites (just because I am such a big BR fan).
