New Year's resolution

I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but I have a bunch of models that have been started and never finished. Some of them have languished for years. Like forgotten lovers, I was hot to trot on them for a while, but then some new bit of eye candy came along, and they were cast aside.

So, for my 2020 NY resolution, I hereby publicly proclaim and resolve to finish the following partially completed models before beginning something new:

SD/Chibi Tiger I
SD/Chibi M3 Lee
Skipton Castle Gatehouse
KZ-1 "Red Star" armored train car (1/50)
TR3B flying triangle UFO
Spanish Civil War Ebro Type 1 armored car (1/50)
Keffen Rockwell's Nieuport 11 (1/50)
AEC Dorchester "Moritz"

The list could go on, but I want to be realistic here. This is going to be tough enough as it is.

I have 4 or 5.

Others I realized I didn't was to finish - chucked them.

The ones left I do on the basis of two new models, then finish one old one, then two new, one old etc!

Works for me..

New Years Resolution?

Sometimes I am in a printing mood and place Part Pages with Instructions, if any, in folders.

Sometimes I am in a cutting mood and place Parts with Instructions in clear plastic zip lock bags.

Years pass, and boxes containing zip lock bags and others of folders begin to stack.

Now 1/1/20, I am announcing intent to bring one model alive to completion at the end of each month...make that a month and a half.

Competition worthy? No promise. Each will be what they will be.

At another forum, December is the month for catching up. Now that it is January, I need to try to knock out one or two of those things I meant to do ages ago, and meant to finish up last month.

Or I could check out forums and blogs and see about rebuilding my paper model library...

Why is it some projects lose their luster?

I enjoyed reading your post, Don. I posted such a list of resolutions on 1 January 2015. There were fifteen projects. I completed 3 (not all of them in 2015). But I also wrote at the end of the post, "If not this year, then next year, if not in this life, then in the next."

Today, I resolved to finish the three relatively simple models on my desk/workbench. If I succeed, then I will consider the next steps.

Meanwhile, I look forward to the completion of all your models, Don, and to seeing them here in Carlisle in May and/or at Sterling in November.

幸あれ (Sachi are!

I forgot one - a 1/50 O-Ho (Japanese super heavy 4 turreted tank - not the WoPT kit).

I think I have a pretty good shot of finishing these models. Most are more than half built, a couple of them were almost finished before I lost interest. For instance, to complete the KZ-1, I only have to build the track and rail bed to set it on. The O-Ho only needs grab handles, exhaust pipes and a couple of ladders.

I think I can, I think I can.
