Aw man, sad. His 2002 book titled Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road is well worth reading.

Another legend gone... Having only recently discovered Rush myself, I can truly appreciate what a musical genius he was and a brilliant drummer, one of the absolute best. R.I.P Neil.

That’s a great read, southwestforests. My copy sits next to his Clockwork Angels book.
Thanks for that one, whulsey. Yeah, Neil was a big car fan. He wrote the lyrics to the song “Red Barchetta” (Moving Pictures-1981) based on R. Foster’s “A Nice Morning Drive” (Road & Track, Nov ‘73). Neil’s version of the story replaces Richard’s MG Roadster with the Ferrari 166MM Barchetta. He also loved touring on his 1200GS (the central activity while dealing with his loss in Ghost Rider) and would ride between venues while Geddy & Alex took the road coach. One of my favorite Neil stories is The Drummer, the Private Eye, and Me: BMWBMW • View topic - The Drummer, the Private Eye, and Me (Rush Fans Take Note) If you’re a Rush fan or enjoy road touring, it’s worth the read. -J |
