Thanks, Guys!

Standing by patiently and thinking good thoughts.

I sympathize. My computer died slowly over the holidays. Finally got a replacement. Spent a week re-installing programs (with a lot of problems along the way). The day I finished all the installations, the WiFi routed crashed. Got a new one, but couldn't get it to connect. The interim password that the vendor provided was wrong. Now everything seems to be working, but I am now surprised when I turn on a switch and the lights actually come on.

Don

That´s funny. Sounds, as if there were a life outside there, just beyond and above cardboard-modelling... - naaa, You must be joking!
Good luck anyway!

Was just wondering how this recovery is going. And if the site is recovered or rebuilt, do we need to set up new accounts?
Thanks,
Dave

Well, things are moving along.

The new site will include automated backups, updates, and is designed just for our style of site for great things and better stability.

The owner is now to the point of setting up the staff accounts!

We are getting closer. However, still no definitive date.

However, I am not sure about having to make a new account. My best
guess, yes, you will have to register a new account.

I'll try to post this in multiple places...

everyone...who is trying to register an account at the new ecardmodels...please stop.
Also, stop sending us emails about setting up your accounts!

LOL

Seriously, we aren't quite ready yet...
I should have been more clear on the Help page (at the site).
I have since added a warning.

We are not quite ready to register new accounts (vendor or shopper)
and the Support department is too busy to answer support emails right now (so I have removed the email link).

We've got some issues with paypal and the payment structure.
And we haven't started stocking the store yet.
Give us some more time please.

A question?

What has happened to our past purchases access?
Is there a chance we'll get them back or are they lost?
Just an inquisitive wulphh

Chris will have to answer this, but if I remember correctly its a similar situation to the last reboot.

All accounts, history, and records have been effectively lost.
A new store...new accounts...new registrations (for vendors and shoppers).

At the old ecardmodels, when you purchased something and downloaded it,
the file remained in your account...so you could retrieve it again.
Basically back-ups.

With the loss of all accounts and history, those back up files are lost.

But as with the last reboot, I'm sure Chris will stand behind his commitment to help as much as he can
and to replace models if they need be restored.
While we cannot restore the history and backups, if you legitimately lost your files
due to flood, fire or harddrive crash, etc...and can show some proof of your past purchases...
ecardmodels will help you rebuild your catalog.

I know that for myself, Dave's Card Creations, if anyone bought one of my models
and needs it restored, and we can verify the purchase, I will replace it.
I know Chris...he would do the same.

Give them a chance to get the store rebuilt and restocked.
When its up and running, register a new account.
Then, you can look into contacting us and giving us the information we will need to restore whatever we can of your past purchases.

I hope you understand why this is not something we can focus on right now.

*nods understandingly and smiles a touch*
Oh I understand.. Luckily I kept all my EC buys in directories label with dates..
And I only peep in at Eccardmodels once a day or so to see the progress of repairs
Thanks for the answers, Dave.
