I remember watching Monty Python's Flying Circus on TV around 1969-1970. That was and still is some of the funniest stuff ever. Favorites include Spam, Spanish Inquisition, Fish Slap, Dead Parrot, Ministry of Silly Walks, Wink Wink Nudge Nudge, etc. Some great movies also.

I am starting to understand how my parents and aunts and uncles felt when their entertainment icons started passing. So many musicians and actors that I grew up listening to and watching are starting to die.

It is sad.

The strange thing is that as all the icons diel, there seem to be very few people stepping into their shoes.

Its like the music - the old tunes and songs go on - the new stuff just comes and goes...

This is sad news for comedy and learning. Mr. Jones will be missed for his gifts in many fields that will continue blessing and educating for generations to come.

I saw him... oh... two years ago at the Motor City Comic Con. He was being led around by an attractive young lady and he looked as though he hadn't a clue as to where he was...

His 'female" roles were something else.Very often it was his mockery of stereotypes that got guys salvos of laughter and puzzled looks from girls watching it (if any dared to).

That generation of comedians has not been replaced and I doubt it ever will be.

Very sad news... I love people who give smiles and laughter to people.


I see comedy skits now and then on the telly, but somehow, the charm is not present.... I wish they produced really funny scripts again.
