Farewell

After ten wonderful years as a member of this site, I'm bidding farewell. I'm no longer able to do modeling because of my advancing arthritis.

I have learned so much from the great modelers on this site, that I can't relate it all. Not only about paper modeling, but about aircraft, ships, architecture, color matching, and many other topics. I'll miss the great comments and the wonderful work done in paper.

But, I'm moving back to a hobby that I can still do, furniture refinishing. I've been doing refinishing off and on since I was a teenager, and am still able to do it, as the worst that can happen is I drop my sandpaper. But even if I drop my sander on my foot, it's less painful than trying to manipulate a hobby knife. And less bloody, too.

Thank you all for so much enlightenment. You're a wonderful group.

Garland Shinn

Garland,

Keep checking in, keep asking questions, you can use the forum as a way to relax, and read all the posts you are interested in.

Hope to see you around

Rick

All the best to you, Garland. Yes, the damn arthritis means clumsiness at best, and lots of pain at worse. Haven't built for ages, but I keep reading the forum.
I hope you do, too.
Anthony.

That's a real bummer. At least you have another outlet that you enjoy. And one that doesn't take the closeup eyesight that modeling does, which is starting to be one of my thorns. As people have said, hang around here some and say hello occasionally.

Sorry to see you go, but what will be will be!

Pop in, but more importantly, enjoy the woodworking - great that you have an alternative you like!

Just because you can't build doesn't mean you can't be a member here - my paper building has become sporadic, but I love being part of this community.
