EMD SD-40, drawings etc?

Glad to tell you that our Santa Fé F-7 Paper Trade (available via zeistbouwplaten.nl or Ecardmodels) is proving a modest success. Enough to consider another US railway icon - the SD 40.
Researching the F7 was not easy, and took a lot of time ('inventing the wheel'). I would be very grateful for good scale drawings of the SD-40 - I am sure it is all out there! It would save me a lot of time searching. All information is very welcome! Also with regard to most popular livery etc.
Hope to hear from you,
Diderick A. den Bakker, the Netherlands.

Here is a site with a drawing of a ATSF SD40u (5000 class) https://sfrhms.org/resources/drawing...-publications/
if that is what you are looking for. There are some dimensions.

Diderick,

The "Trainiax" site given by skidoosnopro above is good. This will assist with sorting out the variations and minor difference. Navigation is not clear but click on the arrows to bring up the actual drawings. It is a site worth studying.

This site has an extensive collection of drawings of the various SD-40 varients. Also recommended.

Good luck!

Rather than an SD40, might I suggest doing its 4-axle counterpart, the GP40, which uses the same type of trucks as the F7 (and thus would simplify that part of the development)? The same body, with variations in the number of doors and fans, and the size of the radiator compartment would also work for the GP38. Both of those would certainly be considered iconic models in their own right, and would offer dozens, if not hundreds of possibilities for paint schemes.
