John Bowden has passed.
Yesterday there was activity on Facebook indicating John had been taken to hospital. This morning the activity was not positive. It was reported by his wife that he passed away at 4:30 this morning.
I had the privilege of meeting him and sharing a conversation and meal with him during my wife's and I vacation travel back in 2016. At that time I gave him the beta build of a model he never got around to releasing. I've been holding on to my build thread pictures ever since waiting for his go ahead to publish them. I will miss him in cyberspace and in real life. Rest in Peace John! 😢

I had followed some of the same conversations on Facebook.
John was a force in the hobby, administering DGA models, helping with graphic issues I had. We were going to collaborate on some Riverine craft, i helped with some research for him, which he was eager to receive and use. Enjoy the eternal Bass fishing lake in the sky, John Rest well

This is a real shock. I never met John face-to-face, but we corresponded frequently over the years, he was a big supporter of the Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Days events, and did many recolors for me. I sometimes provided research for other recolors he did, especially of U.S. Army Aircraft.
I am certainly going to miss him and wish his family well in this time of loss. Don |

As I don't fb, this was a shock. I too had the pleasure of meeting him, a couple of times,
and enjoying meals and his company, as well as his wife. Prayers go out for the whole family.

So very sad. When I was new to the hobby, he patiently helped me, even though I am sure he thought I was an idiot.
He will be missed

This is sad news indeed. John was always helpful and generous. When it came to modeling, his eye for detail was second-to-none.
Our hobby has lost a giant, but we have to remember his family has lost someone they loved. Here's to you, John.... |

To bardzo smutna wieść,pozostaną po nim modele i malowania które zaprojektował ,i dzięki temu będzie nieśmiertelny .
RIP John Wyrazy współczucia dla rodziny Johna ,no i dla Was bo modelarska rodzina straciła jej część. Będzie bardzo brakowało Johna na forum
