Haven’t tried it, but had good success with Krylon triple-thick crystal clear glaze, also from WalMart.

Although it takes a few layers, I run pledge floor polish through my airbrush

Liquid Plastic Dip
Bought a liquid can of it.
Was used to seal the leak on a really old 1990 Chevy Blazer S10 roof leak. Tried lots of different products to seal the leak, pouring the Plastic Dip on it and then used disposable paint brush to spread over the leak area. Roof rack rusted out where screws were located in the sheet metal. Fix lasted another 50,000 miles (5-years) before the transmission started acting up. I did use a couple of cans of the spray, at first to seal the leak, when spraying it comes out with "spatter" globs. It did work on part of the leak, went back to buy more , that's when I found the liquid version. Always wondered how it would work for a paper boat water proofing. Have not seen it in clear, is that what you are asking about? Red, Blue, Yellow are just some of the colors available. Here is a photo of what the dip can be used / designed for: Mike
