Pick Up Sticks

A friend sent me a link today to a video featuring a lady called Miyoko Shida Rigolo playing her version of Pick Up Sticks. This is it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSDGaQO4ssk

I found it astonishing and thought it might be of interest to some other forum members. The performance does not always go to plan, and there are other videos in the vicinity of this one that show how she copes with such a catastrophe.

Hi, Don. I once read a book called "Zen and the Art of Archery", written by a German man who lived in Japan during the 1920's. For reasons I forget he took a couse in archery from a Zen Master. One of the things he was taught was that you must let the arrow fire itself and not interfere with it. Seems like something of the same kind is happening here.

That's interesting about the archery. I've tried applying a similar philosophy with "Zen and the Art of Shed Building" i.e. "let the shed build itself and not interfere with it".

Not much progress so far.... think I might have to intervene at some point.....I'll give it a few more days ;o)

But seriously - an amazing video, especially when she removes the feather and the whole lot collapses!

I'm still waiting for my shed to be built as well. It's a small world.
