Final services for my Mother

On Friday 6/19/20 at 10:00 AM we were finally able to hold a funeral. My mother was in my post from 3/6/20 about her passing. It wasn't what I would refer to as a "normal" service as we had no minister. My pastor was there in an unofficial capacity and I did something that I never planned or expected to do. I conducted the service for her myself. My pastor friend said that I performed a wonderful service for her and that it was the best funeral that he had ever attended. He asked me how many ministerial services could I remember at all of the funerals I've been to where anyone remembered what the minister said. I had to admit that I couldn't recall what any of them had said. He told me that my mother's funeral was a memorable service because mine was from the heart without some sermon. I honored my mother to the very end and it was an honor bestowed by God upon me to do what had to be done as her first born. How many of us can say that we were so honored? I'm at total peace with her passing now.
